September 2011 Meeting Notes
September, 2011 McKinstry Meeting
Theme: Cold War
Program: Dan Paulien – Applying Gloss Finishes
The monthly theme generated 6 models. Not a very good showing, but then only 11 modelers made an appearance at the September meeting. Interesting to note that out of the six models, three were versions of the SR-71!
In addition to the 6 cold war themed models, there were several others. Overall, a nice table for show ‘n tell, even though member turnout was light.

Program: Dan Paulien – Applying Gloss Finishes
Dan gave an insightful demonstration on applying gloss finishes. It seems to be an area that car builders have a step up on aircraft builders. Of course we turned Dan to the dark side a long time ago – now he does more aircraft than things that can’t operate in the air. Nice job, Dan; I picked up several useful tips for that next gloss blue Navy plane.

Dan entertains a question as “Twitch” Hanlon catches a nap. Obviously, working a grueling 3 day work week has gotten to Mike.
And finally – an assortment of new offerings from Thundercals. The Tick tries to drum up interest for his latest masterpieces. Fortunately, the McKinstry ‘bolt fans are a willing audience.
