MIKE TITRE MEMORIAL AWARD

The 1st Mike Titre Memorial Award was presented to Mike Mattei at the IPMS/National Convention held in Norfolk, VA., this past August
Mike who recently retired after a 26 year stint in the US Air Force, is an IPMS member who belongs to the Tidewater Chapter, host of this year’s nationals
Mike informed me that he models mostly 1/48th aircraft from any era. “Basically, whatever looks interesting.” He also dabbles in armor.
Using the Tamiya 1/48th scale P-47D, Mike’s subject was a well done “Wicked Wabbit” ( P-47D-15-RA 42-75719) as flown by 1/Lt. James C. Hare, 65th FS/57thFG; Alto, Corsica, summer 1944.
The following images courtesy of mike Mateii of his model, Wicked Wabbit. Congratulations Mike!

Since we were unable to secure a meeting room at the Arlington Heights Library for the October 17, 2008 meeting, we will meet at the Glenview Hangar One Museum. (No contest at this meeting.) However, the contest on April 10, 2009 meeting is still scheduled for this date and will be held at the museum. The theme for that contest will be:
“A multi-engine object (aircraft, armor, vehicle, etc.) that served at Glenview NAS that was painted gray, blue or blue and
gray.”
Reminder!!!
If you volunteered to present a program at the monthly meeting and find you will be unable to attend, please call or e-mail Dick Smith at 847-634-0791 or tviguana@Comcast.net. so a substitute can be found.
